The LG Gram 15 ($1,099.99 as tested) is a midrange ultra-portable notable for its record-setting ultra light weight. Despite the 15-inch display, the laptop weighs just over 2 pounds, which makes it lighter than many similar laptops, without compromising the large display or performance. There’s a wide choice of connectivity options and a good battery life, but aspects of the design do suffer given the sturdy build. The overall construction is a bit flimsy, an issue we felt with the smaller version of this notebook, the LG gram 14. The 15-inch version has more pros than the gram 14, and a better price, but the lackluster chassis and keyboard quality still hold the system back.
The LG Gram 15 offers laptop buyers a large 15-inch screen at a weight they will have to carry to believe. This slim marvel weighs just 2.16 pounds, making it the lightest notebook with this size display we have ever examined. While the original 14-inch Gram appeared like an Apple MacBook copycat, the Gram notebook has an almost-bezel-less display that makes it more compelling. Plus, in contrast to a lot of super thin laptops, the LG Gram 15 has a full set of ports. The only issues holding this laptop back from greatness are its average build quality and average battery life.
