Overview
Acer manages to roll premium body and smart design, better-than-average efficiency, good battery life and an outstanding keyboard into a fairly priced 2-in-1 tablet. The Acer Switch Alpha 12, makes a compelling bargain for folks who need adequate power for performance and gaming but don’t need top-level stylus performance, a stellar display or a great camera.
The Acer Switch Alpha 12 (begins at $650, $800 as tested), company is selling you on complete silence; it’s the first liquid-cooled 2-in-1 laptop available out there on the market. The laptop also ships robust performance and comes with a stunning, vibrant Quad-HD 2160 x 1440 display. Plus, unlike the Surface Pro 4, the Acer Switch Alpha 12 consists of a keyboard cover in the box. Of all the models attempting to compete or improve on the Microsoft Surface’s design, I think this one gets best. The system feels high quality and strong. One of the significant new features of the 2-in-1 is its fanless, liquid-cooled architecture. Sadly, the battery life on this convertible is even shorter than the Surface Pro 4.
