Google Pixel 8 Could Revolutionize Android Software Updates

Previously, Android phones were notorious for their limited software support. However, Samsung changed the game a few years ago by promising four years of Android OS updates and five years of security updates for its mid-range and high-end devices. Other Android brands, including Google, OnePlus, OPPO, and Xiaomi, followed suit.
But now, Google plans to take it a step further. According to reports from 91Mobiles, Google is planning to provide up to seven years of Android OS and security updates for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. If this leaked information is accurate, the Pixel 8 series could receive software updates up to Android 21. However, it’s important to approach this news with caution, as there is a possibility that the report may have misinterpreted security updates as Android OS updates.

Aside from the software updates, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are rumored to come with impressive specifications. The Pixel 8 is rumored to have a 4,575mAh battery with 27W fast charging and 18W fast wireless charging, while the Pixel 8 Pro may feature a 5,050mAh battery with 30W fast charging and 23W fast wireless charging.
In terms of camera capabilities, the Pixel 8 could sport a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10.5MP front-facing camera with autofocus.
