ITV Names Simon Farnsworth as Chief Technology Officer

ITV, a leading UK and global entertainment brand, has announced the appointment of Simon Farnsworth as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Farnsworth, who will assume the role in early 2024, will be responsible for spearheading the company’s technology strategy, overseeing infrastructure, tech architecture, and innovation as part of ITV’s digital transformation.

Farnsworth brings a wealth of experience to his new position. He previously served as EVP and CTO at News UK, where he played a crucial role in the launch of TalkTV. Prior to that, he spent six years at Discovery, also serving as CTO. His track record of delivering tech innovation and driving capabilities makes him an ideal fit for ITV’s future development.

Farnsworth will report to Chris Kennedy, ITV’s Chief Financial Officer, and will join the management board. He will succeed Mark Smith, who is leaving ITV to become the CTO at National Lottery operator Allwyn in November.

In his new role, Farnsworth expressed his excitement about joining ITV and the opportunity to work with a brand that is at the forefront of entertainment.
