Xiaomi Mi Note 2 fast charging confirmed, might come in dual-curved display to challenge Samsung Galaxy Note 7

The Xiaomi has yet to announce its long rumored phablet, the MI Note 2. Though the phablet is in queue, a new leak photo suggests the device may live up to the hype. The latest image shows a sleek metal smartphone with a curved display to compete with the new Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Also, the Mi Note 2 just got certified at the Chinese 3C certification website, which essentially means that the charging side of things for the Mi Note 2 have been certified.

As per the reports of Android Central, according to a listing, the Mi Note 2 will support a 5V 2.5A, 9V 2A and 12V 1.5A charging with the maximum wattage of 18 W. This, of course, means that the Mi Note 2 will offer fast charging and Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0. The Mi Note 2 is almost certainly going to ship with either the Snapdragon 820 or Snapdragon 821.

Also, the Mi Note 2 may actually come in two different variants, a standard flat-screened model and a higher-end curved version. Xiaomi is tipped to release both standard and curved variants to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will feature a 5.7-inch Quad HD IPS (2560 x 1440 pixels) dual curved display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

The Mi Note 2 will be powered by Snapdragon 821 processor, Adreno 530 graphics, up to 6 GB RAM and 128 GB expandable internal storage. If the rumors are to be believed, Xiaomi will be the first manufacturer in China to integrate Snapdragon 821 processor. The device will run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS along with the MIUI 8.

The device will be equipped with a 16 mega-pixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, dual-LED flash and auto-focus. There are reports that the device will offer only 4 mega-pixel front-facing snapper, but we can expect at least 8 mega-pixel sensor. Mi Note 2 will be backed with 4,000 mAh battery. The device is expected to be launch later this month.
