Samsung Z2, the Tizen powered smartphone launched at INR 4,590 with Jio services: Features and Specifications

Samsung has launched its third Tizen-powered smartphone, the Samsung Z2 in India. It is the first 4G enabled Tizen smartphone that is launched in the country after Z1 and Z3. The Z2 comes pre-loaded with Jio apps and some other interesting features like Ultra Data saving mode, S bike mode and My Money Transfer app.

The smartphone is priced at INR 4,590 and will come in gold, black, and wine-red color variant. It will be available across the country from August 29 through Paytm online store and other offline stores. Manu Sharma, Vice President, Mobile Business, Samsung India Electronics said, “Samsung Z2 makes 4G accessible and relevant to the unique needs of feature phone users and first-time smartphone buyers. It brings consumers a fast and affordable mobile internet experience that will democratize 4G usage in the country.”

Specifications of Samsung Z2

The Samsung Z2 features a 4-inch WVGA screen which is powered by 1.5 GHz quad-core processor that comes with 1 GB RAM. On the storage front, the device will come 8 GB internal storage along with a micro-SD card slot with support up to 128 GB. The device will further support dual micro SIM slots along and will be backed with a 1,500 mAh battery.

The device will come with a 5 mega-pixel rear camera and LED flash at f/2.2 and a VGA resolution module as the front facing camera, at f/2.4. On the connectivity front, Z2 comes with Bluetooth v4.0, micro USB 2.0, GPS with GLONASS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n at 2.4 GHz, Wi-Fi Direct, in addition to Smart Switch for PC sync.

On the software side, the Ultra Data Saving mode claims to save up to 40 percent on mobile data with the help of data compression and blocking apps that are not required in the background. My Money Transfer is a payment system with support for all the major banks. This system is put in place to help people make the move towards digital and cashless payments.
