Samsung Galaxy Note 7 name confirmed by Evan Blass: Device to be announced on August 2nd

Earlier, rumors had said that the company might skip the number 6 and jump straight to 7, to stay on par with its Galaxy S series and not confuse people. Other rumors had said that there would be 2 versions, one of them being an Edge device, just like the S7. Then some said that only an Edge version of the phone will be announced.

However, as per the leaked images of the famous techie Evan Blass, there will be no Galaxy Note 6, Samsung is going forth with the Galaxy Note 7 name for its flagship. The Galaxy Note 7 will succeed the Note 5 and now Notes and S’s will walk hand in hand. The leaked image can be seen here.

It can be hard to digest and a bit confusing for the customers who are waiting for the Galaxy Note 6 (now Galaxy Note 7) device. But, the good thing is that now both the Samsung Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series lines on the same number.

Specifications of Samsung Galaxy Note 7

The Galaxy Note 7 is expected to feature a 5.8-inch Q-HD (Quad-HD)display, a Snapdragon 823 SoC paired with 10 nm 6 GB of RAM module, 32 GB inbuilt storage that can be expanded via micro-SD card, a 12-megapixel rear camera, a Dual Pixel setup in the front and a 4,200 mAh battery.

The device is also reported to have a Iris scanner that will allow users to unlock the device by scanning the retina. Other features include USB Type-C port and S-Pen stylus.

The smartphone is expected to arrive on August 2. We should know for sure what form the phone will take soon specially speculating on naming, screen types, iris recognition, and else thing.
