I’ve seen my fair share of smooth clamshell laptops recently, but Asus’ latest offering, the Asus ZenBook UX330UA is easily the most attractive of the lot. Like many ultraportables, it shares more than a passing resemblance to Apple’s MacBook Air. Nevertheless, its 13.6mm aluminum chassis is superb to view, from its gently textured casing to its beautiful high-resolution display.
Admittedly, the Asus ZenBook UX330UA doesn’t feel quite as sturdy as the Apple’s MacBook, its keyboard tray exhibited a couple of signs of undesired flex here and there, though it’s still an elegant device that looks every bit like a premium notebook.
More importantly, it has the specifications you’d expect from a high-end ultrabook. Unlike the Apple MacBook Air, which still boasts with one of Intel’s old school 5th-generation Core i5 processors and just 4GB RAM, the Asus ZenBook UX330UA comes with Intel’s 6th-generation dual-core Core i5-6200U chip clocked at 2.3GHz and a whopping 8GB RAM. Asus’ 13-inch laptop looks good not only on just paper as it offers over 10 hours of battery endurance, reliable multitasking performance, and wide viewing angles.
