  • This article is a part of CNET’s collection of news, suggestions, and opinions about Apple’s most well-known device, Focal Point iPhone 2022. When iOS 16 launches on Monday, Sept. 12, you can say goodbye to your outdated lock screen and usher in a new era of phone customization. As part of its autumn iPhone presentation on Wednesday, Apple disclosed the release date for iOS 16. It’s become a regular ritual for Apple to announce the upcoming version of iOS at its WWDC conference in the spring, test the software with developers and other beta testers over the summer, and then introduce the OS and the newest iPhone in the fall.

The new operating system will be available on the iPhone 8 and second-generation iPhone SE and all later models — X, 11, 12, 13 and 14, including Pro, Plus and Max models.iPhone 14 Pro, Pro Max Get New Notch with Dynamic Island Feature. The iOS 16 release date wasn’t the only thing announced Wednesday. Apple also showed off the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max, Apple Watch Series 8 and the new Apple Watch Ultra.
