According to a new rumor out of China, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will be made official later this month – July 25 to be precise. Although the device has already been the subject of some rumors, this is the first time we’re hearing a specific unveiling date for it.
Earlier, as reported by GizChina, the company’s newest flagship will feature three variants for Xiaomi Mi Note 2. All the three variants can be classified as following:
- 4 GB RAM with 32 GB storage, 1080p display
- 6 GB RAM with 64 GB storage, 2K curved display
- 6 GB RAM with 128 GB storage, 2K curved display

The higher end models will feature a 5.7-inch curved display and a rear dual-camera at 12 mega-pixels each. The lower end version with 4 GB RAM will have one 16 mega-pixel camera on the back — that means no dual-camera, but the resolution will be a bit higher.
The top model is rumored to come with a “Force Touch” feature, which is essentially a rebranded version of the technology that is expected to come in the next Nexus phone from Google, as well as 3D Touch, which came with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s Plus. For those not familiar, Force Touch allows users to swipe down on an app icon that will offer preview content from the app. This means you don’t have to fully open an app to get certain quick-access information.
As for similarities between the devices, they are all expected to be packed with either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 or the 821 processor, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner underneath the display, NFC capabilities, and a 4,000 mAh battery that is Quick Charge 3.0-enabled.
Pricing will vary, of course, with the lower end, 4 GB model costing 2499 Yuan ($375 or Rs 25,000), the 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage option costing 2999 Yuan ($450 or Rs 30,000), and finally, the higher end 6 GB RAM with 128 GB storage costing 3499 Yuan ($525 or Rs 35,000).
