Xiaomi Mi Max launched in India: Price and Specifications

Xiaomi has finally launched its Mi Max phablet with a massive 6.44-inch display in India. had unveiled three variants in China, only one variant has arrived in India – 3 GB RAM/ 32 GB internal storage/ Snapdragon 650 SoC. The smartphone is priced for Rs 14,999 and will be available from Mi.com in its first flash sale to be conducted on July 6. Open sale on all partner platforms like Amazon, Flipkart etc will begin on July 13.

The Chinese conglomerate added that the Snapdragon 652 variant 4 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage storage will also be available soon in India and it will be priced at Rs. 19,999. All variants of the smartphone come with a hybrid dual SIM configuration, allowing users to place up to a 128 GB micro-SD card in the secondary SIM card slot.

Xiaomi Mi Max Specifications

The Mi Max phablet features a 6.44-inch full HD (1080p) display. The 32 GB storage variant is powered by Snapdragon 650 chipset that comes with 3 GB RAM. The latter 128 GB storage/4 GB RAM variant will be powered by Snapdragon 652 chipset.

In the photography department, the phablet sports a 16 mega-pixel rear camera with PDAF (Phase Detection Auto-focus) support, and a 5 mega-pixel wide-angle selfie camera. Both cameras have f/2.0 aperture.

The phablet is backed with a 4,850 mAh battery that comes with Quick Charge support, connectivity options on the phablet include 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS and Bluetooth 4.1. The Mi Max measures 173.1 * 88.3 * 7.5 mm, and weighs in at 203 grams. The all-metal body smartphone is available in Dark Grey, Gold, and Silver colors.

As for MIUI 8, the company said the public beta will be available in the form of an OTA update starting July 11, and users can get instructions on how to download and install the update via the new Mi Community in India, and the MIUI Forum. The stable version of the Global MIUI 8 ROM will begin rolling out on August 16.
