Xiaomi has expanded the Android 11 rollout of the Redmi Note 8 to include Global ROM devices

Points Highlighted:

  • It’s important to note that this build isn’t public yet. It appears to be exclusive to pilot testers at the moment, but will eventually make its way to the public—perhaps in a few weeks.

  • While the first update was for the European model of the device, this update is for the global model. The OTA arrives with the build designation “MIUI 12.0.1.0 RCOMIXM”. That denotes the usual, that it’s a very early build, and that it brings Android 11 to the global model of the phone. The OTA weighs in at 2.3 GB, as it’s a full OS upgrade. The update also delivers the July security patch.
