  • Xiaomi has revealed the Xiaomi 12 Pro, its premier smartphone for the first part of 2022. Currently only showcased in China, the company has hinted that the Xiaomi 12 Pro and its non-Pro sibling should launch in other markets, eventually. Unsurprisingly, Xiaomi has packed the Xiaomi 12 Pro full of flagship hardware, including a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. Additionally, the device has a 6.73-inch display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, a 480 Hz touch sampling rate and a 1,440 x 3,200-pixel resolution. The AMOLED panel also has a slight curve along its long edges, an LTPO backplane and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The gadget comes with a slew of remarkable features, including 120 W charging, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, and the new Sony IMX707 camera sensor. Among other features, the Xiaomi 12 Pro sports a 120 Hz display, LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 3.1 storage.

Moreover, Xiaomi has integrated a 4,600 mAh battery that supports 120 W wired charging and 50 W wireless charging. Incidentally, the Xiaomi 12 Pro can recharge other devices wirelessly at up to 10 W. Xiaomi’s Surge P1 chip handles the device’s impressive charging wattages. Separately, the Xiaomi 12 Pro has three 50 MP rear-facing cameras coupled with a 32 MP front-facing camera. The Xiaomi 12 Pro is also the first smartphone to feature the Sony IMX707, a 1/1.28-inch camera sensor with an f/1.9 aperture. The Xiaomi 12 Pro lacks a dedicated zoom lens, with it relying on portrait and ultra-wide-angle cameras, instead. The Xiaomi 12 Pro is already orderable in China, where it starts at CNY 4,699 (~US$738) with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The device is available in four colours and with up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
