Upcoming Xbox Series X event isn’t going to be what you think

If the rumors are to be believed, Microsoft is planning an Xbox event “What’s Next for Gaming” in the coming weeks. According to the reports, there will be a gamer-centric storefront soon, in addition to other corporate events titled “What’s Next”. However, this doesn’t mean that you should expect major revelations, especially for informational purposes related to the biggest upcoming Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S games like Halo Infinite or Fable.

Instead, it seems likely to focus on the technology and the Xbox ecosystem as a whole, which could be enlightening in terms of determining the Xbox roadmap and strategy. ZDNet notes that this event is reportedly separate from the upcoming Microsoft Game Stack Live event.

It is possible that we will see updates to how the Xbox network is working, or even new features. Xbox CEO Phil Spencer has indicated that Xbox Cloud Gaming will soon be available for iOS and this would be the perfect time to reveal it.

ESA has currently confirmed that E3 will appear as a digital event in June 2021. Brands such as Capcom, Koch Media, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive, WB Games and Xbox have confirmed their participation.
