WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The U.S. Auto Security Agency announced Wednesday that it will be dispatching a team to investigate a Tesla accident in a Michigan State Police vehicle near Lansing that is suspected of being that it is in autopilot mode.

The agency said, “In accordance with NHTSA’s vigilant oversight and solid authority over the safety of all vehicles and equipment, including automated technology, we have established a dedicated crash investigation team to investigate the crash.”

Tesla didn’t immediately comment.
