News: U.S.-China meeting to touch on Hong Kong, technology concerns: Sullivan.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – US officials will raise concerns about Chinese measures in Hong Kong and technology-related security risks when they meet with Beijing’s top diplomats next week, President Joe Biden’s national security adviser Jake Sullivan told reporters.
US officials will also address questions Asian allies raised on Friday about China’s “coercion against Australia” and its “aggression on the border with India,” Sullivan said.
Trade would not be central to the talks, but Washington would say the United States is planning steps to ensure its technology is not used in a way that harms US security or values, he said.
