Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy are also included. The former is without a doubt among the best of the prior games, while the later, which is a standalone extension of the former, falls short. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, like Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, is a fantastic game that has been removed from the PlayStation Store. To put it another way, there is no way to purchase the games digitally.
Two popular PS4 exclusives will no longer be available for purchase. The PlayStation 4 offers a lot of amazing titles, and some of them are exclusive to the platform, or at the very least console-exclusive. Persona 5, Bloodborne, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Ghost of Tsushima, God of War, Final Fantasy VII Remake, and The Last of Us Part 2 are among the titles on this list.
Meanwhile, at retail, the games are going to get harder and harder to find until it’s near impossible as new copies are likely no longer being made. Why? Well, because of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection.
At the moment of publishing, it’s unclear why Sony is bothering doing these with the PS4 versions, but it likely involves the upgrade path to the PS5 versions of these games, which aren’t being sold separately and thus can’t be upgraded individually. That said, if you own the aforementioned bundle, you can upgrade to the PS5 bundle for $10.
This week, Sony announced Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection — a PS5 and PC remaster of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy — will release on January 28, 2022. Meanwhile, the PS4 versions of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy have been removed from sale in favor of releasing them as a bundle. In other words, the games can no longer be individually purchased on the PlayStation Store, only via a bundle dubbed Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End & Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Digital Bundle, which costs $40. As some PlayStation fans have pointed out, this is a price hike, as both games were available for just $10 before this.
The free PlayStation Plus video games for December 2021 are now officially available. The subscription service’s freebie rotation this month includes Godfall: Challenger Edition, Lego DC Super-Villains, and Mortal Shell. Additionally, the three extra PlayStation VR titles The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, The Persistence, and Until You Fall remain available to claim. Beyond that, however, there are some very specific caveats to the new offerings.
More specifically, Godfall: Challenger Edition is for both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 while Lego DC Super-Villains and Mortal Shell are both for PlayStation 4. Godfall: Challenger Edition is also… not the normal, full Godfall experience. Instead, the Challenger Edition essentially drops players into endgame-level modes Lightbringer, Dreamstones, and the Ascended Tower of Trials. In order to access the game’s campaign, Challenger Edition players will need to upgrade to the Deluxe Edition.
Beyond all of that, the usual caveats for PlayStation Plus free games apply for December 2021’s titles. Only subscribers can claim them, and even then only for a limited time. These titles are all tied to the subscription as well, so if a player that has claimed a game lets their subscription lapse, access to the claimed video game will be revoked until the subscription is active once again. That said, claimed titles remain attached to the account, so access to all of them will be restored at that point.
