This month marks the 4th anniversary of the Nintendo Switch. But Nintendo apparently isn’t done with the Wii U yet. For the first time in 2.5 years, Nintendo has released a firmware update for the Wii U. This means that if you are still using your console, it can be upgraded to version 5.5.5 U.
Surprisingly, the official patch notes don’t have much to say. In fact, it only mentions that “other overall system stability improvements and other minor improvements have been made to improve the user experience”.
In this particular case, it’s the Wii U. The tablet and console have just been updated for the first time since September 2018. The patch notes admittedly aren’t all that exciting (and seem to be the same as the last lot), but still – it’s an update for the Wii U in 2021!
