    JioBook is rumoured to run on Qualcomm’s 11-nm Snapdragon 665 chipset. “… We have talked to Jio. They could take the device and bundle it with data and content,” Miguel Nunes, senior director, product management, Qualcomm Technologies, had told ET in 2018.

  • JioBook is back in news. The Reliance Jio’s laptop has allegedly appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website. The rumoured JioBook has been spotted on the BIS certification website with its variants. The first reports of the laptop appeared in 2018, when a report claimed that a laptop with a SIM card could be the next big bet for Reliance Jio in its bid to increase its average revenue per user (ARPU). Earlier this year, another report claimed that Mukesh Ambani-led telco will launch laptops running on Windows 10 OS. Here are all that rumours claim about the JioBook laptop.

​May have 4GB RAM
Reports claim that the laptop will have 4GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage.

​Connectivity options
Connectivity-wise, the laptop may support mini HDMI for video output, support for WiFi over 2.4 and 5GHz frequencies, Bluetooth, a three-axis accelerometer, and a Qualcomm audio chip.

​”Jio has partnered with China’s Bluebank Communication Technology”
An XDA report said that Jio has partnered with China’s Bluebank Communication Technology for the laptop. Bluebank claims to have developed products that run KaiOS, the operating system that powers feature phones, including Reliance JioPhone.

​Launch date and availability of JioBook
As per earlier reports, development on the JioBook started in September 2020 and is expected to continue through the first half of 2021. This means that the laptop may be announced sometime around Diwali and go on sale in the first half of next year (2022).
