However, the small size of the cover screen severely restricts its usability and what you can do with it — a complaint we have had since the Flip lineup’s inception. Samsung may finally address this flaw with the Z Flip 5 this year, according to a recent rumor.

Since its launch, Samsung’s flip phone lineup has undergone only minor design modifications. The Galaxy Z Flip 4 was an incremental improvement over the Flip 3 that placed a strong emphasis on internal improvements and increased battery life. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 of 2021, which focused on durability and internal upgrades over the Z Flip, was the same. With this year’s refresh, that may finally change because the company will have to make a number of design adjustments in order to accommodate a larger external display.
