Square Enix is bringing the Valkyrie series to PC this November

We will examine traditional selection techniques and how modern techniques examine security, machine learning, and the software ecosystem. Although this is the fifth Valkyrie game in the series, Valkyrie Elysium is the first one to make its way onto PC. Thankfully, it doesn’t seem like you’ll need any knowledge of the previous games as Square Enix promises “an original story, set in a world that teeters on the brink of destruction.” There’ll be some familiar aspects for long-time fans though, like the Einherjar and Lenneth’s finishing move, Nibelung Valesti.

  • Steam’s release of Valkyrie Elysium comes a little behind consoles, though. The upcoming action role-playing game Valkyrie Elysium from Square Enix and Soleil now has a release date and a fresh video to celebrate. It already appears to be a vast improvement over the announcement trailer(opens in new tab) that was released three months ago. The entire thing had a few shaky spots, showed very little gameplay, and appeared to be a bit of a stuttering mess. It still seems a little janky, but much less so in this latest teaser, which features a lot more gameplay.

The downside is that PC players are getting Valkyrie Elysium a little later than our console siblings. While the game is releasing on September 29 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, we’ll have to wait until November 11 before the game releases on Steam(opens in new tab). You can check out the trailer above but it’s also worth peeping the Japanese trailer(opens in new tab)—it shows off some combat not seen in the English version and flows a little better.

A fresh writer in the industry, Mollie has been taken under PC Gamer’s RGB-laden wing, making sure she doesn’t get up to too much mischief on the site. She’s not quite sure what a Command & Conquer is, but she can rattle on for hours about all the obscure rhythm games and strange MMOs from the 2000s. She’s been cooking up all manner of news, previews and features while she’s been here, but especially enjoys when she gets to write about Final Fantasy, Persona, The Sims, and whatever other game she’s currently hopelessly fixated on. There’s a good chance she’s boring another PC Gamer writer about her latest obsession as we speak.
