Samsung launches J5 Prime and J7 Prime smartphones in India: Price and Specifications

Soon after launching the Galaxy A9 Pro smartphone in India, Samsung has now launched the Galaxy J5 Prime and Galaxy J7 Prime smartphones in the country. Both the smartphones are the upgraded versions of the Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 smartphones that were launched earlier this year. The Galaxy J7 Prime is priced at INR 18,790 (approx US $280) and is already available for purchase. The Galaxy J5 Prime costs Rs 14,790 (approx US $221) and will hit the shelves by September end. Samsung is also offering 10 GB worth of Vodafone data at 1 GB price.

The Galaxy J7 Prime and Galaxy J5 Prime pack features like the S Bike mode and ultra data saving. Samsung has also introduced two new features called S Power Planning that helps on saving smartphones battery when it’s really low. It has three options –  reserve battery for calls,  extended battery time and forward calls when no battery. S Secure with the new devices. Other one is the S Secure mode that has a secure folder, lock and hide apps option and a secure WiFi option.

As for the specifications, The Galaxy J7 Prime is powered by a 1.6GHz Exynos octa-core processor that comes with 3GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage that can be expanded further up to 256 GB via micro-SD. The device features a 5.5-inch Full-HD (1080p) IPS display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and dual-SIM card support. The smartphone features a 13 mega-pixel rear camera with an f/1.9 aperture and LED flash, an 8 mega-pixel front camera with an f/1.9 aperture.

There’s Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button and a 3,300 mAH battery. The Galaxy J5 Prime is a smaller version of the J7 prime and features a more nimble quad-core processor, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB of expandable storage, a 5-inch HD (720p) display with a similar curved Gorilla Glass and a smaller 2,400 mAH battery. In the connectivity department, both the phone offers 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth v4.1, microUSB with OTG, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
