Fans of the classic Pokémon Diamond and Pearl games can look forward to two new remakes, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, which will be released simultaneously in late 2021.
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl were announced during the Pokémon Presents show for Pokémon’s 25th anniversary. The projects are being developed by ILCA, who previously developed Pokémon Home, and Game Freak’s Junichi Masuda, director and producer of previous Pokémon major titles.
Players return to the Sinnoh region with the Nintendo Switch. As before, you can choose from one of three legendary starters, namely Chimchar, Turtwig or Piplup. The game seems to retain the aesthetics and size of the original game, which is a fan favorite in the Pokémon community.
Details on additional features or game modes are yet to be announced, but previous remakes like Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, and Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, which are largely based on their respective origins, hope that Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl can both follow in their predecessor’s footsteps to step.
