Redwire Demonstrates Hybrid Space Architecture Simulation for US Air Force

Points Highlighted:

  • Redwire demonstrated its solution, the “Hybrid Architecture Laboratory Operational Environment (HALOE),” as part of an Air Force Research Laboratory AFWERX contract it received in October of last year to support a complete Joint All-Domain Operations (JADO) for the U.S. military.

  • Space and digital engineering solutions provider Redwire successfully demonstrated the ability to simulate hybrid space architectures in support of advanced mission planning for the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory, the company announced Thursday.

HALOE employs a cloud-based architecture, which aims to allow disparate end-user teams to collaboratively configure multiple satellite constellations, ground stations, and disparate assets within a single simulation. It is built upon the Modular Open System Architecture (MOSA) framework of Redwire’s ACORN Digital Engineering software suite.

“The successful demonstration of HALOE’s ability to ingest and harmonize current and soon-to-be-deployed assets across multiple domains into a single digital environment is an important milestone in achieving JADO,” Redwire Chief Architect Stanley Kennedy, Jr., said in the announcement. “Realizing the end vision of HALOE will enable key decision makers to evaluate current and future capabilities for integration into existing architectures or envisioned architectures of the future. This first of a kind digital engineering capability for space has the potential to increase the speed and reduce the cost of future architecture deployments.”

Redwire said that the HALOE demonstration showed off its ability to facilitate rapid and configurable digitally engineered space mission design through trades and analyses of various missions for U.S. National Security in space.

Redwire is in the midst of going public through a merger with Genesis Park Acquisition Corp., which will make the company a publicly traded company valued at $615 million. Last month, Redwire CEO Peter Cannito sat down with Via Satellite’s Rachel Jewett for an interview about the company’s future strategy.
