Quake is coming to next generation consoles with support for 4K and 120 frames per second

Points Highlighted:

  • On Xbox, there’s Play Anywhere support allowing for save game transfers from PC to console. PS5 owners get the benefit of DualSense Adaptive Trigger support, and Bethesda also took the time to take advantage of the integrated speaker in Sony’s controller.

  • Announced yesterday, the next-gen upgrade for Quake is now available. It’s a free update for anyone who purchased the game on Xbox One or PS4, but you can also purchase it via the Xbox and PlayStation digital stores. As long as your display can cope, it allows the game to be played at up to 4K resolution and 120fps.

Updating the game on Xbox Series X and Series S should happen automatically using Microsoft’s Smart Delivery system. PS5 owners can trigger the update via the Game Hub or the PlayStation Store. Detailed instructions are included in Bethesda’s announcement regarding how to grab the update.
