After weeks of leaks and provocations, Poco India has finally launched its latest smartphone, the M2 Pro, in India. The device was billed as the company’s latest budget segment, displaying an aggressive spec sheet for the price.
Launched through an online event, this new phone appears to have been heavily influenced by the Redmi Note 9 Pro, as it not only comes with a similar design, but also features and specifications almost comparable to the Redmi device.
Poco M2 Pro: price and availability
Poco’s latest phone was released in three variants of RAM and storage. The company announced that the Poco M2 Pro will be sold for Rs 13,999 for the 4 GB / 64 GB variant. The 6 GB / 64 GB is sold for Rs 14,999, while the high-end version of 6 GB / 128 GB is sold for Rs 16,999.
All three variants are announced in three different colors: Two Shades of Black, Out of the Blue and Green and Greener. The phone was charged as an exclusive Flipkart and will be available on the platform during the initial sale on July 14 at 12:00.
Poco F2 Pro: specifications and features
In terms of specifications, the Poco M2 Pro was announced to bring a 6.67-inch FHD + screen 20: 9 FHD + protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The phone body also comes with a P2i Nano, splash and dust resistant coating . Under the hood is a Snapdragon 720G Octa-core processor paired with up to 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
The built-in cameras are very similar to the ones we’ve seen on the Redmi Note 9 Pro. This is because the device has a four camera configuration that not only looks like the Redmi Note 9 Pros on the outside, but is also the same when it comes to comes to the hardware.
As such, the phone will have a 48 megapixel main camera on the back – the same Samsung ISOCELL GM2 seen on the Redmi Note 9 Pro. To complement this primary lens, there is an 8 megapixel wide-angle sensor, a 5 megapixel macro sensor and a 2 megapixel depth sensor. The cameras come with Pro Color, Pro Video, RAW and LOG modes. The phone’s front camera is a 16 megapixel sensor for selfies and video calls.
Keeping the lights on on the device is a 5000 mAh battery, which can be recharged very quickly with the phone’s 33W fast charging. The phone’s connectivity options may include 4G LTE, support for dual SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5 mm headset and GPS.
