Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Could Be The Next Flagship Graphics Card

Just when we thought we had a firm sense of what Nvidia Turing might be, a new rumor suggested that the company would be abandoning its iconic GTX brand with its next-generation graphics cards.

Nvidia is reportedly going to adopt a new RTX brand for the next family of Turing graphics cards, according to AdoredTV unidentified sources. Coach YouTuber backs up his claims, noting that Nvidia recently registered the GeForce RTX and Quadro RTX brands.

The execution theory so far is the name RTX can allude to Nvidia introducing real-time Raytracing technology, which until now has only been made available through extremely expensive back-based supercomputers of the company.

AdoredTV also claims that its source said that Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 would be 8% faster than GTX 1080 Ti and 50% faster than GTX 1080. A new Titan GPU is also supposedly 15% faster than Titan. V and 50% faster than the GTX 1080 Ti.

Now, these rumors are coming from the field far to the left as most of the stories about upcoming Nvidia GPUs have pointed to the 11 series graphics cards. This includes an Aida 64 screenshot that appeared earlier in the week but found the existence of the Nvidia GTX 1180 – although they suggest that a Volta GV104 core will power it.

At the moment, it’s hard to believe any rumor about the other, so let’s take it all with a little salt. Fortunately, we all may soon get out of this speculation as we race for the Nvidia GeForce Gaming Celebration at Gamescom in late August.
