A special Pokémon Presents event will share franchise updates next week on February 27.
Given that February 27 is also Pokémon Day, which Nintendo typically observes with significant updates to the various Pokémon games, the announcement shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.
However, since Nintendo hasn’t yet disclosed a release date for the eagerly anticipated patch for Scarlet and Violet, we might see the games mentioned. However, in terms of updates, we might hear about some DLC releases akin to Pokémon Sword and Shield’s Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra expansions.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet were even announced at the previous event, though it’s unlikely that the next mainline games will be announced given that these two were only released recently.
Additionally, Nintendo revealed at its Direct earlier this month that Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games would eventually be available on Switch through its Online subscription. Despite being among Nintendo’s most well-known and well-loved handheld games, Pokémon Red, Blue, Ruby, Leaf Green, and more were conspicuously absent from the list of Game Boy titles that were revealed for the service.
