Motorola’s Moto Edge Plus renders reveal ‘waterfall’ display and triple camera setup

New renderings of the famous Motorola Edge Plus flagship have appeared and show a sophisticated device with three rear cameras, curved edges of the ‘waterfall’ screen and the smallest hole for a selfie camera you’ve ever seen. The renderings, released jointly by the well-known leaker @OnLeaks and Pricebaba, are a series of photos showing a smartphone with the polish that we normally see on phones like the Samsung Galaxy S20 line. Judging by these potential designs, Edge Plus features some Samsung S series design signatures, from the curved edges to the bore.

OnLeaks and Pricebaba also released a video in which a full CAD rendering of the supposed Edge Plus design is rotated. Important points to note: cascading sides with flat top and bottom like the Samsung Galaxy Note 10, an amazing thickness (9.5 mm) below typical general dimensions (161.1 x 71.3 x 9.5 mm ) for a phone with a 6.5 to 6.8 inch screen… and a headset (!!).

We expected to see a new Motorola flagship at MWC 2020, whether it was the Moto Z5 or the Motorola Edge Plus. But after the program was canceled, we heard no indication of when or whether the new flagship would appear. It is significant that we have only heard about Edge Plus. Recently, with a leaked spec sheet suggesting that it will come with a Snapdragon 865, up to 12 GB of RAM and a 5,000 mAh battery.

If necessary, Motorola has serious power in its hands, adequate to compete for the main brands. It’s a distant cry from last year’s Moto Z4, which had a more intermediate chipset and spec; perhaps Motorola is quietly pulling back its Z Series to reach the top of the cell phone market, although some Moto Mod fans were saddened to see their family of long-support phones being taken out to pasture.
