If it is the company’s final list, it would mean that Motorola has dropped support for most of its mid-range smartphones that it released in 2019 and 2020. For example, the Moto G9 series is missing from the list, despite being released last year.
Motorola has stated that at least 30 of its handsets will be updated to Android 12. Some older smartphones, including those released in 2019, did not make the criteria. Motorola’s foldable smartphones, on the other hand, will have Android 12. According to Android Planet, an official Android 12 upgrade plan for Motorola smartphones has been revealed. The list, which is reproduced below, features 30 smartphones, including the Moto G100 and the RAZR 5G. However, Motorola has not confirmed whether or not this is the final list of devices to receive Google’s new operating system.
According to Android Planet, Motorola will begin updating devices to Android 12 from February 2022. Unfortunately, Motorola has not outlined when it will finish its Android 12 rollout, or when it will update each device. Presumably, Motorola will make only minor changes from the AOSP version of Android 12, as was the case with the company’s Android 10 and Android 11 updates.
