As reported earlier, Micromax has now launched another smartphone under its Canvas series. The smartphone is named as Canvas 5 Lite. The smartphone is priced at INR 6,499 (approx US $97) and is now available for purchase from Snapdeal. The main talking point of the smartphone is its brown leather finish, seen on the back panel.
The Micromax Canvas 5 Lite is a dual-SIM smartphone with 4G LTE connectivity. The smartphone features a 5-inch HD (720p) display and is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735P SoC that comes with 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage. Unfortunately the storage on this smartphone cannot be expanded further. The smartphone will run on Android 5.0.1 Lollipop OS out of the box.

The smartphone features an 8 mega-pixel rear camera with LED-flash, and a 5 mega-pixel front-facing camera. The Micromax Canvas 5 Lite is backed by a 2,000 mAh battery that’s rated to deliver up to 150 hours of standby time, and 4.5 hours of talk time. Connectivity options on board include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, FM radio, 4G and Micro-USB. Sensors on the phone include proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and accelerometer.
Recently, Micromax also launched its two new smartphones under its YU brand. The smartphones are named as YU Yureka S and YU Yunique Plus. While the Yureka S is a mid-ranged smartphone and is priced at INR 12,999 (approx US $194), the Yunique Plus is a low range smartphone which is priced at INR 6,999 (approx $104).
