HTC’s upcoming Nexus smartphones will now be launched under Google’s new Pixel branding on October 4

As we all know that Google will launch the new HTC based Nexus 2016 smartphones with in no time. The two smartphones are rumored to be code-named as HTC Sailfish and HTC Marlin . Also, both the smartphones are rumored to be based on HTC 10 flagship smartphone that was launched earlier this year. Now, as per the recent reports, both Marlin and Sailfish, will be launched under the Google’s new Pixel branding. Both the smartphones are expected to be launch on October 4 and the smartphones will be named as Pixel and Pixel XL.

As per earlier reports, Pixel XL (previously known as HTC Nexus Marlin) will have a 5.5-inch Quad-HD (1440p) AMOLED display. The smartphone will be powered by quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor that will come with 4 GB RAM, 32 or 128 GB of storage, and a 3,450 mAh battery. Smartphone is expected to have a 12 mega-pixel rear camera and an 8 mega-pixel front camera. Besides, the Pixel XL is said to have a fingerprint scanner on the back, bottom speakers, Bluetooth 4.2 and a Type C USB port.

The Pixel (previously known as HTC Nexus Sailfish) is expected to come with a 5-inch full HD (1080p) display. The smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage. The smartphone will also have a fingerprint sensor at the back, USB-C port as well as a top mounted headphone jack. The handset will have support for Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity and is backed by a 2,770 mAh battery. It features a 12 mega-pixel rear camera and an 8 mega-pixel front camera.

Both the smartphone will run on Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box. Apart from the new smartphones, Google is also likely to launch the new 4K chromecast which will stream 4K content through your device. Other than that, a new Daydream VR device is also likely to be unveiled at the October 4 event. There is yet no information regarding the prices of the smartphones.
