HTC upcoming Nexus smartphone codenamed ‘Marlin’ specifications leaked:

As it is already been confirmed that the upcoming Nexus 2016 smartphones are made by HTC. Last month, we saw Android Police citing credible sources in which it revealed the key features of the Nexus 2016 smartphone codenamed “Sailfish“. Now, this time, they (Android Police) have detailed the HTC’s 5.5-inch Nexus phablet codenamed Marlin, evoking excitement among fans.

The HTC Marlin is reported to have similar internal hardware as expected in the Sailfish, but would differ in two key aspects. The former will sport a bigger 5.5-inch screen with Q-HD (Quad-HD) (2560 * 1440p) resolution screen and a massive 3,450 mAh battery. On the other hand, HTC Sailfish will have 5.2-inch full HD (1920 * 1080p) resolution and a 2,770 mAh cell. It is believed that this move has been done deliberately in order to market the phones in different price segments like LG and Huawei did with Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, respectively, last year.

Both Sailfish and Marlin are said to have the same cameras (front and back), processor, RAM capacity and also boast fingerprint sensor at the rear. They are expected to come packed with 12 mega-pixel dual-lens primary camera and an 8 mega-pixel front snapper, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 (also known as 823) or 820 processor and 4 GB RAM. HTC Marlin will come in two storage variants — 32 GB and 128 GB.

So far, there are no details regarding the price and release dates of the Google Nexus 2016 smartphones. Since, the smartphones will be featuring the all new Android N (Nougat) which was announced on June 30 by Google, rumor mills are buzzing that the devices may get launched in August or at least before the end of September.
