The Samsung Galaxy M02 launched in markets such as the Phillippines as a phone set well into the sub ~US$150 bracket with a 5,000mAh battery as perhaps its best feature for its 6.5-inch waterdrop-notched HD+ screen and 3GB of RAM at most. It never got an M03 update in 2022, which might be explained in part by the underwhelming MediaTek MT6739W SoC that did not even get a series name in 2017. However, it now seems that it has a successor after all, with a potentially significant upgrade in this regard.
Galaxy M04: The New Budget Device Before its release, a Samsung smartphone purportedly appears on Geekbench. Launched in 2021, the Galaxy M02 is an HD+ LCD display, dual-camera Android smartphone that never received a M03 replacement. However, it now appears like Samsung aims to move forward with a M04 that might launch in 2023, if not earlier, and have an OS and SoC improvement over its entry-level predecessor. Smartphone Software Storage Leaks / Rumors Regarding Android.
Rumors of a Galaxy M04 have been sparked by the reported appearance of the “samsung SM-M045F” on Geekbench. With that model number, it might be construed as a Galaxy A04 re-brand; if so, one or both devices might rock a considerably newer Helio G35 (or MT6765V/WB) platform. It also seems the M04 could launch with a build of One UI 4 based on Android 12, although it still has 3GB of RAM. Therefore, should this leak prove accurate, a decent update of a budget Android smartphone for certain markets might be on the way
I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
