“I truly believe every taxpayer deserves to know what the government is doing with their hard-earned tax dollars, and I’ll bring commonsense, conservative leadership to the office of State Auditor,” Glover wrote on Facebook.
Glover, a retired high school teacher, served in the Senate from 2006 to 2018 and served one term in the House of Representatives before that. A Republican, Glover ran unsuccessfully for lieutenant governor in 2018.

State Auditor Jim Zeigler is in his second term and cannot seek re-election because of term limits.
Glover becomes the third Republican candidate for the seat. He joins Stan Cooke, a pastor from Jefferson County, and state Rep. Andrew Sorrell of Muscle Shoals.
The primary is May 24, 2022.
