In late 2022, journalist Matt Taibbi released his internal Twitter documents, known as the “Twitter files.” This included an internal communication from his media platform on Social Media discussing the story of Biden’s laptop. In one of the emails, Yoel Roth, former Twitter chief of trust and safety, appeared to encourage Twitter staff to censor the article. In November 2022, about a month after Elon Musk bought the platform, Musk fired Vijayagadde (Twitter’s chief censor) who was responsible for covering up his story on Mr. Biden’s laptop.
