Elden Ring uses ray tracing and runs at 60 frames per second on the PC

Points Highlighted:

  • As for the performance mode, which runs at 60 FPS, the resolution will be adjusted and some differences in the display of grass and other ground objects will also be noticeable depending on the console.

  • Additionally, On PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, Elden Ring will also support HDR and resolutions up to 4K in maximum resolution mode. We assume that the 30 FPS mode will be the one with ray-tracing.

PC players don’t have to worry about performance and resolution modes since they can tweak the in-game graphics settings to their liking. Sadly, it seems that Elden Ring will be locked to 60 FPS on PC, which is not unusual for From Software’s titles – their games are known to lock frame-rate to 60 FPS on PC due to the in-game physics system which is tied to frame-rate.

Elden Ring is officially hitting the shelves on February 25, 2022, for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
