Dynamic backgrounds for Halo Infinite and Wasteland 3 were introduced in Xbox Series X | S

Tech Highlights:

  • The Dynamic Backgrounds on Xbox Series X|S consoles are essentially moving images that give your dashboard a more living feel. Microsoft has been slowly adding new backgrounds over the last year, and now two new images have been added to the roster: Halo Infinite – Carnage and Wasteland 3: Cult of the Holy Detonation.

  • Microsoft has updated the Xbox Series X|S consoles with two new Dynamic Backgrounds, featuring Halo Infinite and Wasteland 3.

Of course, the addition of Halo Infinite’s second background is to celebrate the launch of the game’s campaign, which releases next Wednesday, December 8th. This background shows Master Chief in a combat situation with dirt blowing around him, and periodic pink Needler rounds flying across the screen.

To add the new backgrounds to your Xbox Series X|S dashboard, head to Settings, General, Personalisation, My Background, Dynamic Backgrounds, and scroll to the end of the list to find both Halo Infinite – Carnage and Wasteland 3: Cult of the Holy Detonation.

Wasteland 3’s background marks the second time a game has been added to the available Dynamic Backgrounds and looks to promote the game’s latest DLC, the Cult of the Holy Detonation. The background shows a nuclear explosion frozen in time, with flickering computer screens.
