Demos for the Game Awards 2021 have been leaked on the Microsoft Store

Points Highlighted:

  • This wouldn’t be the first time Xbox released demos to coincide with special events. Microsoft began the ID@Xbox Summer Games Fest Demo Event last year, letting consumers at home play demos of games that would be playable on the show floor had they been able to attend. Last year saw a release of over 70 Summer Games Fest demos such as Cris Tales and Destroy All Humans, meanwhile this year got 40 demos including titles like Sable and Tunic.

  • A few games were discovered on the Microsoft Store with the designation “TGA21Demo” at the end of the title, indicating that they are part of The Game Awards 2021’s special demo. They’re available in the store, but you can’t download them just yet. Treasures of the Aegean, Mind Scanners, and Nobody Saves the World are the three game demos featured. On Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, all three demos are marked as playable.

Battlefield 2042’s second big update is available to download now, and it comes with a variety of updates, including fixes to critical bugs, adjustments to various vehicles, and numerous general changes.

Various vehicles have received adjustments as well. MD540 Nightbird Mounted 20mm Cannons have had their damage upon impact radius reduced, and have also decreased their splash damage. The damage of Miniguns on all Land Vehicles has also been reduced, as well as bullet damage drop off now starting earlier. Mostly, several vehicles have received nerfs rather than any kind of buffs.

The game has been suffering from issues related to both reviving other plays as well as the ability to respawn. If a player died too close to a wall or water, another player wouldn’t be able to revive them, but this issue has now been resolved. Another issue occurred where some players in a downed state wouldn’t be able to respawn, which has also been fixed. The patch notes also state that they’ve added an invisible 30-second timer which will “force a redeploy should it be required,” as a backup option.

And bullet spread has been reduced across all weapons except for shotguns, allowing for greater accuracy. There were some online fixes too, including a fix for an issue where players queuing for a match in Battlefield Portal would be sent back to the menu rather than joining a match when a slot becomes available.
