News: Carnival Corp CEO sees minimum of two more tough years for cruise industry: FT.
(Reuters) – Arnold Donald, chief executive of Carnival Corp., anticipates at least two more difficult years for the cruise industry that are unlikely to return to pre-pandemic levels until at least 2023, the Financial Times reported on Sunday.
The cruise company’s entire fleet could sail by the end of this year, but it will take longer for pre-crisis revenue to recover, Donald told the newspaper in an interview.
The January Carnival reported a better-than-expected preliminary net loss in the fourth quarter as business virtually stalled due to the coronavirus outbreak.
