Canon officially launched the long-awaited Canon EOS R5 and Canon EOS R6. These two new full-frame mirrorless cameras have remarkable features and will be available in India. The company launched four new RF lenses at an online event, including a zoom lens, a macro and two super telephoto lenses. Although these were some of Canon’s expected products, the company also launched the Canon PROGRAF Pro-300 printer.
Let’s take a closer look at the recently launched Canon products:
Canon EOS R5
The uncut EOS R5 mirrorless camera has a 45 megapixel CMOS sensor and the Digic X processor. The camera is unique in its type to capture 8K RAW video up to 30p and 4K video up to 120p. There is no RAW video recording available in 4K modes. The EOS R5 allows photographers to take photos at a maximum resolution of up to 20 fps with the electronic shutter or 12 fps with the mechanical shutter.
Canon’s mirrorless main camera – the EOS R5 features a new “Dual Pixel CMOS AF II” for full focus, consisting of 1,053 automatically selected AF zones. With improved AF tracking algorithms, the camera focuses on head and eye detection, even for dogs, cats and birds.
At a price of Rs 3.39,995 in India, the new camera comes with up to 8 points of image stabilization on the body (IBIS) to get better pictures in hand. The Canon EOS R5 is weatherproof and will be available from August 2020.
Canon EOS R6
The most affordable, mirrorless EOS R6 camera comes with a 20.1 megapixel CMOS sensor and the Digic X processor. The EOS R6 can record 4K video up to 60p, 1080 / 120p in slow motion and high-resolution images resolution with 20fps electronic or 12fps mechanical shutter. There is no RAW video recording for the EOS R6.
As with the EOS R5, the Canon EOS R6 features ‘Dual Pixel CMOS AF II’ and the same IBIS system. The Canon EOS R6 is priced at Rs 2.15,995 in India and, like the EOS R5, the EOS R6 will go on sale from August 2020.
Canon RF lenses
For the lenses, Canon launched four lenses from the RF series, which will also be available in the Indian market. These lenses include Canon RF 100-500mm f / 4-7.1L IS USM, Canon RF 85mm f / 2 Macro IS STM, Canon RF 600mm f / 11 and Canon RF800mm f / 11.
Canon PROGRAF Pro-300
Canon’s PROGRAF printer series ranges in sizes from 13 to 60 cm wide. The PRO-300 is the smallest of them and is suitable for media up to 13 inches wide and up to 39 inches long.
