Another fantasy title, a parody action RPG, has been announced

Tech Highlights:

  • You play an outlaw who’d “normally be prey for the protagonist in some sidequest,” as the Atomic Wolf team describes it. Instead, you’ve killed the kingdom’s savior and stolen his unicorn. An adventure ensues. Yet Another Fantasy Title promises parodied versions of all of the usual open-world action-RPG fantasy genre tropes, such as plenty of sidequests, a comprehensive story, magic, 15 different medieval weapons like swords and bows, and mounts in the forms of unicorns, horses, donkeys, and wolves.

  • Another spoof of a well-known genre is being created by developer Atomic Wolf and publisher Games Operators (the same people behind Grand Theft Horse, a mediaeval top-down parody of GTA 1 & 2). The game Yet Another Fantastical Title has a fantasy theme, as the name suggests. It’s an open-world action-RPG with a top-down perspective. View the introduction trailer above and the gallery of initial screenshots below.

And yes, naturally, there’s a dragon to be slain as well. Yet Another Fantasy Title is in development for PC. Wishlist it on Steam. Ryan McCaffrey is IGN’s executive editor of previews and host of both IGN’s weekly Xbox show, Podcast Unlocked, as well as our monthly(-ish) interview show, IGN Unfiltered. He’s a North Jersey guy, so it’s “Taylor ham,” not “pork roll.” Debate it with him on Twitter at @DMC_Ryan.
