Amazon India to add 50,000 seasonal jobs as demand surges amid lockdown

E-commerce company Amazon India recently announced that it is hiring about 50,000 seasonal jobs to successfully meet the huge demand from people on Amazon’s online shopping services. According to Mashable, the hiring will cover a variety of roles in its call centers and delivery network, including flexible part-time job opportunities as independent contractors on Amazon Flex.

Akhil Saxena, vice president of customer service operations for Amazon’s APAC, MENA and LATAM, said: “One thing we learned from the COVID-19 pandemic is the importance of Amazon’s role and e-commerce for our customers and for small businesses. and the economy We take this responsibility seriously and are proud of the work our teams are doing to help small and other businesses help our customers through this difficult period and we want to continue helping customers in India get everything they need so they can continue practicing with social distance. “The US-based e-commerce company says it will ensure that the health and safety of its employees, partners, employees and customers is not compromised and that a variety of security measures are taken. Some of these measures include mandatory facial coverage for all workers, daily temperature checks, cleaning in all locations, regular disinfection of frequently touched areas and awareness of cleanliness and hygiene among employees.
