Alienware AMD Ryzen 9 RTX 3080 Gaming PC for $1890; Alienware RTX 3070 Gaming Laptop for $1260; Alienware AMD Ryzen 9 RTX 3080 gaming PC for $1890

Tech Highlights:

  • This Alienware m15 laptop is equipped with a powerful AMD Ryzen 7 5800H 8-core processor, 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD, and of course the RTX 3070 video card. The RTX 3070 found in this laptop has a TDP rating of 125W (115W + 10W dynamic boost), which is higher than the RTX 3070 TDP rating you’ll find in most other gaming laptops. Higher TDP means more power is supplied to the graphics card, and that directly equates to better performance in games. Most laptops are willing to sacrifice gaming performance in order to conserve power and reduce heat, allowing for thinner laptop designs with more basic cooling. Alienware laptops, however, prioritize gaming performance first and foremost. The video cards are more powerful, the proprietary “Cryo-Tech” cooling is more effective at cooling the components, and the main tradeoff is s slightly heftier 5.5lb weight.

  • Alienware is offering some quite aggressive deals on a handful of its flagship gaming laptops and PCs, as the price of RTX 30 series video cards continues to drop. Since it’s doubtful that you’ll be building your own laptop, the Alienware m15 RTX 3070 laptop is the clear winner. It’s not only one of the most affordable RTX 3070 laptops we’ve seen, but it’s also one of the most powerful RTX 3070 mobile models we’ve seen. With AMD Ryzen 9 and RTX 3080, the Alienware desktop PC is no slouch, and it’s nearly $100 cheaper than what we saw last week. These and more offers can be found further down.

The RTX 3090 is one of the fastest video cards you can get. The only card faster is the RTX 3090 Ti, which commands an eye watering MSRP of $2000, if you can even find it at MSRP. It’s a bit faster than the RTX 3080 Ti in gaming, but it especially shines in graphics workstation performance, where its 24GB of VRAM pulls it away from the rest of the pack by a very significant margin. The PC also boasts a liquid cooled AMD Ryzen 9 5900 CPU, one of the best processors you can get, a generous 32GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD.

The Samsung CRG9 shares many of the same features of the Odyssey G9 at a substantially lower price point. Like the G9, it boasts the same 49″ panel size, the same 5140×1440 DQHD resolution, and the same HDR1000 quantum dot (QLED) panel with 95% DCI-P3 color space. Unlike the G9, however, the CRG9 has a 120Hz refresh rate and it’s not NVIDIA certified G-SYNC compatible. The latter is really a moot point, though, because even though it’s not officially G-Sync compatible, plenty of people have reported that this monitor works perfectly well with G-SYNC enabled.

This is the lowest priced Alienware RTX 3080 gaming PC at the moment, and yet it’s still upgraded with some really nice specs. Instead of an Ryzen 7, this PC includes a liquid cooled AMD Ryzen 9 5900 CPU, 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD. The RTX 3080 is significantly more powerful than the previous generation’s best video card, the RTX 2080 Ti, and is the best video card to get for 4K gaming without spending an egregious sum of money.

Meta (formerly Oculus) is offering a manufacturer refurbished Meta Quest 2 128GB VR headset for $50 off the MSRP of buying a new Quest 2. These refurbished units have been inspected, cleaned, and tested to function like a brand new unit, and even includes the original packaging. You get a 30-day return policy and a 6-month warranty directly from Meta. Since Quest 2 discounts are hard to come by (because the price is already unbeatable compared to other VR headsets), this is the best deal you’re going to get.
