The new demo’s brand-new System Shock introduction sequence, which “sets the mood and stage for what’s to come once they arrive at Citadel Station,” is the first thing you’ll notice about it. The demo also contributes to the world-building process by providing a glimpse into life in 2072 New Atlanta.
Nightdive has unveiled a brand-new demo for their upcoming System Shock remake, which is scheduled to release next month, while Steam Next Fest is currently in progress. Fans will find plenty of new goodies in the updated demo, including a fresh introduction, improved enemy AI, and plenty of the dismemberment that was hinted at in the previous Kickstarter update.
On the other hand, Citadel Station has seen better times. The Medical level is chaotic, filled with trash and clutter, and there are a few new enemies waiting to meet you.
The PC version of System Shock is now pre-orderable through Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store. It will also be released on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series.
Transdermal Dispensers for those who need a pick-me-up, Recycling Stations to earn some extra cred, Vending Machines to quench the thirstiest of Hackers, and a mysterious Mod-Kit station are among the new machines found throughout the level. Additionally, the updated demo includes enhanced controller support.
