Back in July this year, Meizu launched the MX6 smartphone in China at an event held in Beijing. The smartphone is priced at CNY 1,999 (US $300 or INR 20,000) and came with 4 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage. Now, as per the recent reports, company has now launched a toned down version of the smartphone. The new variant of the Meizu MX6 comes with 3 GB RAM. Apart from the RAM, rest of the specifications of the smartphone are identical to the previous variant and costs CNY 1,799 (US $270 or INR 18,000) in China.
The MX6 features an all metal uni-body with 7.25 mm thickness and uses the refined antenna bands that we saw on the Meizu Pro 6. The MX6 has a 5.5-inch Sharp-made Full-HD (1080p resolution) display, which is protected by a 2.5D glass to boost its looks. The MX6 runs on the latest Flyme with a Marshmallow core. The phone will be available in the traditional Gray, Gold, and Silver flavors.
The MX6 is powered by the Helio X20 chip with a deca-core processor (2x [email protected] GHz, 4x [email protected] GHz, 4x [email protected] GHz), Mali-T880MP4 GPU that comes with 3 GB/4 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage. The MX Pro 6 used Helio X25 chip, which has a slightly faster A72 cores and a tad higher clock on the GPU.
The main camera of Meizu MX6 is a 12 mega-pixel Sony IMX386 1/2.9″ type sensor with 1.4µm pixel size and f/2.0 lens, phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF), and dual-tone flash. Meizu MX6 is the first phone to use this sensor and Meizu says its quality is similar to the Galaxy S7 series’ snappers. The smartphone also has 5 mega-pixel selfie camera.
The rest of the MX6 specs highlights include dual-SIM support, LTE Cat.6 connectivity, and a 3,060 mAh battery capable of fast 24W charging. The Type-C USB port is placed on the bottom of the device, where you’ll find the device’s loudspeaker as well. The Meizu MX6 measures 153.6 x 75.2 x 7.3 mm and weighs 155 grams.
This smartphone will go on sale starting October 1st, and if you live in China you’ll be able to purchase it through the company’s official store, or via third party shops (Lynx or JD.com).
