Images of Meizu’s upcoming Star Trek edition M3E smartphone goes online

Star Trek has certainly enjoyed its 50th anniversary: the latest film was highly successful and the announcement of the all new TV series Star Trek: Discovery was met with much enthusiasm. Well, there’s even more good news for all the Star Trek fans out there. If you’re a fan of Star Trek, you’d be pleased to know that Meizu is preparing to launch a “Star Trek” themed version of the Meizu M3E smartphone in the coming weeks.

Its not the first time that a company is launching a smartphone, whose theme is based on the sci-fi or superhero movie. Just like Samsung Galaxy smartphones based on the The Avengers series and Nokia Lumia’s limited Batman edition smartphone. Now it seems like Meizu will be joining in on the party soon. As you can see from the images above, the upcoming smartphone from Meizu will have the Starfleet insignia on its back. It looks like the software will also see some intergalactic changes.

It’s likely that this limited edition Star Trek themed phone will share the same specs as the regular Meizu M3E that was launched in China earlier this month. Just to recall, Meizu M3E features 5.5-inch full HD display and is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6755 Helio P10 SoC 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage. The device features a 13 mega-pixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, a 5 mega-pixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture and is backed with 3,100 mAh battery.
