Honor launched their new game-centric smartphone, the Honor Play in India. It was first launched in June in China together with Huawei’s GPU Turbo technology. The smartphone is exclusively for Amazon and has a price of Rs 19,999 for 4 GB RAM version and Rs 23,999 for 6 GB RAM version. In this price range, there is hardly any competition at the front. Most phones such as Redmi Note 5 Pro and Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 are relatively cheaper than this. The closest regarding price is its brother Huawei P20 Lite and Nova 3i.
The main feature of the phone is the Kirin 970 flagship chipset and a compelling 19.5:9 screen. To improve the game experience, Honor has introduced its GPU Turbo technology, which is said to increase performance by 60% and reduce battery usage by up to 30%. There is also an AI-based shopping experience called Hi-Touch, which allows users to take photos of products to view and buy from Amazon.
The Honor Play runs Android 8.1 Oreo with Huawei’s own EMUI 8.2 at the top. As mentioned, the company has the high-end chipset Kirin 970, with either 4 GB or 6 GB RAM. The phone has a dual camera setting at the back, consisting of a 16 MP primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 2 MP secondary camera with f/2.4 aperture. At the front, the smartphone has a 16 MP sensor with a f/2.0 aperture. The dual-SIM phone also supports microSD cards for storage expansion up to 256 GB via a hybrid slot.
It will be available today on Amazon India website and HiHonorStore. It is available in the Midnight Black and Navy Blue color options. The Honor Play launch offers on Amazon India include a bundled Vodafone offer that provides 10 GB of additional monthly data for a year, along with an Amazon Prime subscription and more.
