BLU has unveiled a new smartphone, the Vivo 5R, which is said to be the “R stands for refreshed” version of the Vivo 5 smartphone that was launched by the company earlier this year. The Vivo 5R has a premium looking uni-body design that features some decent and improved hardware taken from the company’s Vivo XL smartphone.
The smartphone features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080p resolution) display. The smartphone is powered by an 1.3 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor that comes with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage that can be expanded further via a micro-SD card. While the 1.3GHz Cortex-A53 CPU cores aren’t the most powerful on the market, this hardware setup should easily get you though the basics and a fair bit of multi-tasking.
In terms of Camera Specifications, the smartphone features a 13 mega-pixel rear camera with PDAF (phase detection auto-focus) and an 8 mega-pixel front camera. The smartphone is backed by a 3,150 mAh battery that can easily give you a day backup. The smartphone measure 154.5 x 75.6 x 8.3 mm in dimensions.
Apart from these specifications, the Vivo 5R also comes with a Type-C USB port at the bottom of the device and a fingerprint scanner which is located on the back of the smartphone. The smartphone will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box. The BLU Vivo 5R is already available to pre-order in Gun Metal Grey or White-Gold from Amazon with a $199.99 price tag. The shipping date is scheduled for September 21.
