5 Reason Not to Upgrade Windows 10

5 Reason Not to Upgrade Windows 10

Update – 2018.08.04

Reason for not updating Windows 10 – Windows 10 is here and many users (like Windows 7, 8, 8.1) are very excited to update. But, even if you can get it now, the update will be sent first to those who signed up for the Windows Insider beta program and then in “slow waves” to everyone else you may need to postpone.

1. Your system cannot run it

This may seem obvious, but it is sometimes the obvious that is overlooked. To run Windows 10, you need a PC or tablet with a 1 GHz or faster processor, 16 GB of disk space for 32-bit machines or 20 GB of disk space for 64-bit, 1 GB of RAM for 32 bits or 2 GB for 64 bits, a DirectX 9 or later video card with a WDDM 1.0 driver and a 800 × 600 or higher screen.

2. You receive one year for the free upgrade offer

Windows 7 and Windows 8 users receive a free upgrade to Windows 10. But you don’t have to upgrade now – you have an entire year. So, you can update at will and not waste a day doing it.

3. You use OneDrive placeholders

In Windows 8.1, OneDrive placeholders, also known as smart files, allow you to view all files on OneDrive, even if they are located in the cloud and not on your device. When you double-click on a placeholder on your PC, the file download is the beginning. However, when Windows 10 is released, OneDrive placeholders will not work because of the updated OneDrive software.

4. Security updates for Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 will be available for years

Microsoft has a habit of taking people to its latest operating system, ending support for the old operating system, cutting back on security updates and leaving users potentially open to security threats. If you have Windows 7 or Windows 8, 8.1, you have one year before that happens. Microsoft will continue to issue security patches for Windows 7 until January 2020, Windows 8 until January 2023 and Windows Vista will receive security updates until April 2017. So there is no rush.

5. you are using Windows 7

The main and last reason is that Windows 10 undoes the damage caused by Windows 8, an operating system that was created more for touch devices than for traditional PCs. In fact, the two major improvements in Windows 10 over Windows 8 are the addition of a Windows 7-style Start menu and the ability to work entirely on the desktop and ignore the focused on touch Home screen.

So above, it all comes down 5 reasons not to update Windows 10 now. I hope you enjoy it, so don’t forget to share this post with friends and others.
